Why Conflict Makes Your Body Shake and Your Mind Go Blank

Why Your Body Reacts So Strongly to Conflict

Why does conflict make your body shake and your mind go blank? I connect this problem with your life force and with blockages that affect your body and mind. To understand what is happening, you first need to understand that your body has its own intelligence for responding to different energies and emotions.

If your mind creates a thought connected with past trauma or suppressed emotions, your body can respond to that thought. For example, if a traumatic event created extreme fear and your body went into freeze mode at that time, thinking about that event in the present can bring back the same response. The event may belong to the past, but your body can experience the fear in the present moment.

Your Body Can Respond to a Past Fear as a Present Danger

I describe the instinctive or primitive brain, including the brain stem, as detecting your thoughts from the perspective of energy. If your mind creates a thought of fear, your body can instantly go into freeze mode. In that moment, your body responds as though you are in danger right now.

You experience the fear in the present moment even though the original event happened in the past. Your body responds as though the trauma is still persisting. This is how a thought connected with the past can create a physical response now.

The same can happen with guilt and shame connected with past events. The impact of those emotions can be felt by your body in the present moment. Fear, guilt, shame, anger, blame, depression, panic attacks, not belonging, loneliness, agony, and grief are energies that I describe as being sensed by your nervous system and expressed through body signals.

Why Your Body Begins Shaking and Trembling

When your body goes into freeze mode, your nervous system can respond through trembling and shaking. I describe this response as primitive and something that can also be observed in animals. The body contracts as part of its instinctive response to danger.

Consider a deer being attacked by a tiger or lion. In that moment, the deer’s body can enter a freeze state and become like a stone. The body contracts, and acting dead becomes part of the nervous system’s instinctive function of protection when the animal is unsafe.

This state lasts for a period of time, and afterward the body releases its tension and expands. When this contraction and expansion happens, the contracted energy releases through shaking. I use this example to explain the shaking and trembling that can happen when your nervous system is responding to fear and conflict.

Unresolved Issues Can Keep Recreating the Same Response

Your mind may continue producing thoughts because there are issues in your life that remain unresolved, incomplete, or difficult for you to act upon. These may include past trauma or unprocessed emotions connected with that trauma. As the mind keeps producing those thoughts, the body keeps producing the same freeze response.

If your body had responded through fight or flight in that moment, I describe the possibility of the body expanding rather than remaining in this contracted state. But when the freeze response continues, you may experience shaking and trembling. Your body remains caught in contraction.

Why Your Voice Disappears and Your Mind Goes Blank

Sometimes the shaking and trembling can make your voice become very timid. You may find that you cannot speak, you feel like crying, and you feel your body contracting. Your physical posture can begin reflecting this contraction.

  • Your body shakes or trembles.
  • Your mind goes blank.
  • You find it difficult to speak.
  • Your voice becomes timid.
  • You feel like crying.
  • Your shoulders contract and you begin slouching.
  • Your belly contracts.
  • Your entire system moves into contraction.

Your muscular system, nervous system, and entire system become affected by the conflict that is happening. I describe this as a lack of integration of energy. To work with it, you have to understand the deeper conflict between your mind and your life force.

The Conflict Is Between Your Thinking and Feeling

What is the conflict? It is the conflict between your thinking and your feeling. Your mind may be thinking something while your life force wants you to feel and live life in the present moment.

Your life force wants you to be here and live in this moment. Your mind, however, may continue showing you fear from the past, fear of the future, or emotions from the past that remain unprocessed. This creates an ongoing conflict between the mind and the life force.

Life Force Mastery is about understanding your life force. I teach my students how to understand and manage their life force so that they develop the intelligence to live and lead it. Your life force wants you to live in this moment.

Ask Yourself: Is There a Threat Right Now?

When this response begins, ask yourself whether there is actually any danger or threat in the present moment. You may discover that there is no threat in the present. Your mind is showing you something that is not actually happening around you at that moment.

When you ground your energy from the mind into the body, you begin feeling alive and present. Narrow your awareness from the mind to the body. Instead of remaining caught in the thoughts, come into what your body is experiencing in the present moment.

Body Armor and the Way You Have Learned to Live

I also describe body armor as character armor. This means that you have become identified with something and developed particular beliefs and sets of rules for living that you have learned during your life. At the same time, you may not be following your soul’s guidance or the guidance of your inner life force.

When you live through feeling and activate your body’s intelligence, you can recognize what is happening in the present moment. You can ask whether there is actually a threat now. This brings your attention away from the fear being produced by the mind and toward the life you are experiencing now.

How I Work With Life Force and Traumatic Hold

There are specific techniques I teach in my one-to-one consultations. I also work with my powers to activate your life force and remove the traumatic hold in your nervous system that I connect with body armor and conflict. My work focuses on moving the life force that has remained stuck.

If you have been experiencing these issues for years or decades and have not been able to come out of childhood trauma or move your life force, you can also work with me through a one-to-one physical project. I move your life force and teach you how to master it. Once you learn how to master your life force, you are on your own.

Come From the Mind Into the Body

One thing you can do when this conflict happens between your mind and body is come into a natural energy environment. Be present with what is actually around you. Feel the sunlight, the ground, the water, the greenery, and the life happening in that moment.

This is how I live my own life, experiencing glory and wonder in the present moment. Touch and feel water, appreciate nature, and experience what is actually here. This is life: come from the mind into the body through instinctive activities and live in the present moment.
