Why You Feel Drained Even After Sleeping and Resting

Why Rest Is Not Restoring Your Energy

Do you feel drained even after sleeping and resting? I often come across people who tell me they are resting most of the time or sleeping for hours, yet internally they continue to feel drained. If this is happening to you, you need to understand what may be happening to your life force and how your energy is being depleted internally.

You may sleep or rest for hours and still wake up without feeling rested or energetic. There can be physical, mental, and energetic reasons why your sleep is not happening the way it should. To understand this clearly, I look at these three levels separately and then connect them to your life force.

First, Look at What You Are Giving Your Body

On the physical level, there is a possibility that you are not giving your body enough nutrition, electrolytes, and lubrication. If you regularly eat fruits, vegetables, and fresh food, you receive energetic and bioenergetic content from the food that goes into your body and increases your bioenergy. What you eat therefore becomes an important part of how you experience your energy.

At the same time, if you are eating junk food, excessively spicy food, or food created by killing animals, including fish and meat, I consider that you are not getting the same bioenergy from the food. Stale food and junk food can also require too much energy from your brain and body for digestion. In this way, food can become one of the important aspects behind your depletion.

If you want to sleep well, first nourish your body with high-quality food. This can include vegetables, fresh fruits, fresh juices, electrolytes, and coconut water. Freshly prepared and cooked food is important, and I recommend eating freshly made hot food.

Dehydration Can Keep Depleting You

The second physical aspect is the water content in your body. If you are dehydrated, you need fresh water throughout the day. I do not want you to calculate your water intake only according to a fixed volume; I want you to pay attention to the feeling of drinking water.

The body needs water for detoxification. If there is too much toxicity in your body, your energy can become depleted at the physical level. Water therefore becomes an important part of maintaining the physical conditions necessary for your energy.

If you are not taking water in the proper quantity and your digestion is not happening well, constipation can also become another demand on your system. Your brain and body have to keep working with these physical conditions. This is why food and water are among the first areas I want you to examine when you continuously feel drained.

Your Breath Is Part of the Energy Cycle

The third physical aspect is your breath. Breath is required for the digestion of your food, and your breathing capacity has to be built. Your breathing therefore cannot be separated from the way your body generates and uses energy.

Diaphragmatic breathing means that your diaphragm moves up and down continuously while your belly moves in and out continuously. This movement should be happening throughout the day. If this is not happening because of a condition in the physical body, your breathing can become compromised.

If you are in fight-and-flight mode or freeze mode, sympathetic breathing can also become activated and you may not be able to breathe well. These are some of the primary areas I look at on the physical level. Food, water, digestion, and breath are all connected with how much energy your body is using and generating.

Your Thoughts Can Continuously Drain Your Energy

Now come to the mental level. There may be unprocessed emotions that you have been carrying for a long time, and these can keep creating continuous or obsessive thoughts. You can spend hours thinking in loops without even realizing how much energy those thoughts are consuming.

Thoughts take energy from the breath. If your breath is already compromised, then the energy produced in the body is also compromised. This can become a cycle of internal energy depletion that continues even while you believe you are physically resting.

You may be lying down, sitting quietly, or sleeping for long hours, but internally there can still be tremendous activity. Repetitive thoughts continue consuming energy. This is one reason physical inactivity does not necessarily mean that your system is actually resting.

Your Habits May Be Consuming Your Energy

Your habits, behavior, and patterns of living also matter. If your life is filled with addictions or your attention is constantly being pulled away, your energy can continue getting drained. This can also affect your ability to sleep well.

This may include substance abuse, alcohol, smoking, weed, psychedelics, excessive social media use, or an excessive obsession with something that constantly takes away your attention. These patterns continuously involve your energy and attention. If they dominate your life, rest alone may not resolve the depletion.

Unhealed Emotions Can Remain Active Within You

There may also be unhealed emotions or trauma that you have not addressed. These experiences may remain suppressed in the subconscious even when you are not consciously thinking about them. From my perspective, the subconscious can continue draining your energy because this is energy that remains stuck.

I describe this stuck energy as sticky and dense in nature. It remains within you rather than moving freely. This is where we move beyond the physical and mental aspects and begin looking directly at life force and energy.

The Deeper Question: Are You Living Your Life Purpose?

From the perspective of life force, one of the most important things I look at is whether you are living your life purpose. You may wake up every day without even knowing in which direction you want to flow. If your energy has no direction, you need to examine the kind of life you are actually living.

I connect deep and natural sleep with living your life purpose, following your passion, and following your drive. When you wake up with a purpose in life, your energy has somewhere to move. Think about a point in your own life when you were genuinely driven by something and passionate about what you were doing.

Look at the sense of achievement you experienced during those periods. Then look at the life you are living now. The difference can tell you something important about where your life force is going.

Check the Life You Are Living Right Now

I want you to examine your life directly. Do you feel that you achieve something every day? Do you take challenges, experiment with life, and allow yourself to experience adventure?

These questions matter because your energy needs movement and direction. I experiment with life myself, and I keep taking different kinds of adventures. This is part of how I live and work with my own life force.

  • Do you feel that you achieve something every day?
  • Do you take challenges?
  • Are you adventurous in nature?
  • Do you experiment with life?
  • Do you wake up with a purpose and direction?

A Challenge Can Shift Your Energy

For example, I challenged myself to climb a rock simply to make my nervous system stronger and experience that I could do it. First, I challenged myself to climb it. Then I took the risk of climbing it, and finally I did it.

Within a few moments, I could feel my energy shift. I felt high because I had achieved something. For me, this also means that my instinctive brain is active and I know what I am doing.

This example shows what happens when energy is given a challenge and a direction. Instead of remaining internally stuck, the energy moves into an experience and an action. In just a few seconds, I experienced the shift created by taking the challenge and completing it.

Give Your Energy Somewhere to Flow

The prime thing I want you to do with your life is work on your passion and work on your drive. When your energy has a purpose toward which it can flow, the energy that was being drained internally can be used in living your passion. I connect this movement with getting a good night’s sleep.

You begin feeling that your energy has somewhere to go. I connect this with less contraction in the body, less toxicity, and the beginning of a natural purification process as the total cycle starts moving in the right direction. I also connect this with resetting your circadian rhythm.

The central question is therefore not only how many hours you sleep. You also need to look at how you are living while you are awake. If your life force has no direction, simply adding more hours of rest may not address what is happening internally.

Do Not Ignore Physical Health Problems

At the same time, if you have physical or body-related issues, get yourself medically diagnosed completely. Meet medical practitioners for your health problems and address those physical issues. Do not assume that every experience of exhaustion is only about life force.

Once the physical health issues have been addressed, you can work on your energy. The physical, mental, and energetic aspects all need to be looked at according to what is actually happening in your condition. This gives you a clearer foundation for understanding why you continue feeling depleted.

Live a Front-Loaded Life

When your life force begins moving, you do not have to remain unnecessarily focused on resting. Your life can become front-loaded, which means you take the initiative to live your life and take different kinds of adventures. You begin moving toward life instead of continually withdrawing from it.

I call this off-roading in life. This off-roading creates you, makes you a different person, and takes you outside the patterns in which you have remained stuck. It moves you toward actually living your passion.

This is how I live my own life, and this is what I teach through Life Force Mastery. If you want to learn Life Force Mastery from me, you can come to my physical projects or take my online consultation. I am Sanju, and this is the life I live and teach.
